TWO WEEKS in Orlando from £256pp including flights, hotel (near Disney) & car hire

We've spotted a bargain two-week trip to Orlando in Florida for as little as £256pp if you're going with kids in June – or only £431pp for two adults.

This deal is with no Mickey Mouse operator either, as it's through Thomson Holidays and combines a low fare for flights and hotel with an online discount code. The super-cheap holiday we've found is leaving on June 3, but there are other deals to be had until late June. Flights alone to Orlando will normally set you back around £500… so I've never seen a deal this cheap.

I know this won't be for everyone, as if you're taking older kids you'll need to take them out of school (see our fines for term-time holidays news story), and you'll have to factor in the high cost of park passes, but hopefully, if you're planning a trip to Orlando, this'll help give you a decent starting point at least…

There's no guarantee you'll find the same as I did (last checked on Tue 16 May) and it may involve a bit of trial and error to find the cheapest dates, but here's what I spotted:

Package holiday – £256pp (£1,024 total) incl hotel, flights & car hire (based on two adults and two children)

For this deal, I searched the Thomson Holidays website for a two-week long holiday leaving on Sat 3 June 2017 from London. This is the deal that came up:

Flights

As part of this package, you'll get direct flights from London Gatwick airport to Orlando Sanford. The aircraft is the 787 Dreamliner and you'll receive food and one free checked in bag (up to 20kg) per passenger. Here are the flight times:

  • London Gatwick to Orlando (Sanford)
  • Departing 10.50am GMT – Landing 3.05pm EST
  • Orlando (Sanford) to London Gatwick
  • Departing 5.15pm EST – Landing 6.20am (+1) GMT

Hotel

You'll be staying at the 3* Clarion Inn which is just off Interstate 4 (the highway that runs through Orlando), within easy reach of the Walt Disney World Resort. It's a room-only hotel – so no food is included with your stay. The hotel offers free shuttles to both Walt Disney World and the Universal Orlando resort if you didn't want to drive – but free car hire is also included in this package.

If that all sounds tickety-boo, then there is also a way to get even more money off of your trip.

Use £100 off discount code to max saving

By using the code HOT100 at checkout, you get £100 off holidays priced over £800 until 20 July. This should drop your total for two adults and two kids down to £1,024 (£256 each). Your total should look like this:

Don't have kids? Two adults from £431pp

If you don't have kids or just want an adults-only break, simply adjust the search on the Thomson website. Look for two weeks leaving on Sat 3 June for two adults, and you should get the same hotel and flights at the slightly higher price of £963 (£481pp). Then use the code HOT100 to get the deal down to £863 (£431pp).

If that date doesn't work for you, Wed 7 June offers a similar price.

While these trips include your flight, hotel and car hire, they do not include any park tickets and these are never cheap. Two-week passes for a family of four at Walt Disney World will cost roughly £1,400 – so be sure to factor in these costs if you're going (see our cheap Disney Tickets guide).

But while there are clearly extra costs to consider, if you've got your heart set on Disney, and you don't fancy paying top dollar to stay in the official Disney World Resort, this could be a budget-friendly way of doing it. Or if you're not fussed about Disney, this is a relatively cheap two weeks in the Sunshine State, where there's plenty more to see and do besides Disney World.

I hope this deal leaves you feeling magical. Let me know if you are successful in booking in the comments below, on Twitter @MSE_Deals or on Facebook.
