An F1 car for an alarm clock: Williams and Airbnb offer overnight stay in a bed in the team's Silverstone garage during the British Grand Prix

Thought the sound of your alarm going off in the morning was bad - wait until you have a 1,000bhp V6 hybrid Formula One engine starting up next to your pillow.

That will be the reality for one lucky couple, as Williams and Airbnb are offering what could be the ultimate overnight stay for the biggest of F1 fanatics.

Their competition will let a winner and their guest sleep in a bed in the racing team's Silverstone pit garage during the British GP weekend on July 15, nestled between Felipe Massa and Lance Stroll's 2017 FW40 cars.

'Keep it down, Felipe, I'm trying to get some shut-eye': Fancy sleeping in an F1 team's pit garage during the British GP weekend? Now you can fulfill that dream

According to the Airbnb description, the pit box will be 'transformed from a bustling workplace into a peaceful bedroom' on the night before the race, with the converted garage featuring Martini Racing Art on the walls and an 'expertly engineered bed ready for your speediest dreams'.

But the winner had better hope Felipe and Lance keep their cars out of the wall during qualifying on Saturday afternoon, as iotherwise they might be kept up by the sound of spanners and the pitter-patter of mechanics' feet.

Don't expect a decent lie-in either - the race starts at 13:00, so you best change out of your embarrassing pyjamas before the team knock on the door ready to prep the cars.

The winners will also get a guided tour of the garage during the race weekend, track-side seats for Sunday's race and the team's star driver, Mr Massa himself.

The bed and specially crafted decor will sit between Felipe Massa and Lance Stroll's race cars for the night - and you could be there too

AIRBNB HOUSE RULES FOR THE WILLIAMS EXPERIENCE

- Always abide by the rules or you will incur a five-second penalty

- Please observe the local speed limit of approximately 80km/h in the pit lane

- No wearing a helmet in bed. Helmet hair is not a good daytime look

- Ear plugs may be required when tuning is in practice

- In colder weather, tyre warmers will be provided. Do not use your own.

- No flag waving. This may distract your neighbours

- No pets. We find the loud engines scare them

- No sleepwalking. The nearby pit lane can be a very busy area of track

As well as meeting the team and drivers, Williams is throwing in a pair of track-side tickets for the race on Sunday

While it might look like any bed in a car fan's room, the reality is that two 1000bhp F1 cars will share the space with you for one night

The prize also includes lunch and dinner on the Saturday in the Williams Martini Racing Motorhome, as well as breakfast and lunch in the same facility on Sunday.

You'll also be handed £250 cash to cover an evening meal on the Friday and Sunday night - if you're intending to make a weekend of it - and access to the team's suite during your stay.

To make the garage feel more homely, Williams is even installing a wall of artwork

Whatever you do, don't sleep walk - you wouldn't want to damage a multi-million-pound F1 car on a midnight stroll

They're even throwing in a set of Williams Martini Racing branded towels and dressing gowns.

For more information about winning the chance to sleep in a garage for a night - which sounds utterly underwhelming when put like that - you can read up on the competition on the specially created Airbnb page.

Competition winners will also get to take home a pair of branded dressing gowns and towels
