In a growing city like Tauranga there is always work going on. Here are the main works you might want to know about.
The Tauranga Library car park will be closed the weekend of May 6-7 to allow preparation work begin on demolition of the council administration building.
The library will be open as usual on both days and a temporary after-hours book drop off will be available in the main entrance.
The library car park will be open again at 7am on Monday May 8.
Extensive road works were planned for 15th Avenue between Turret Rd and Cameron Rd.
Sections of the road have started to fail and need to be replaced before winter.
The work would begin on Sunday April 30 and last for four weeks, starting at 7pm each night and would end each morning before peak traffic.
The work involved removing certain sections of road that have failed, laying new subgrade material and resurfacing.
Safety improvements will start on Monday May 1 on Mar ine Parade and Adams Ave.
Several roads in Tauranga CBD will be closed on Saturday May 6 for the official opening of the tidal stairs and the Paradox street food festival.
From 9am to 8pm The Strand from Devonport Rd to Harington St and Wharf St from Willow St to The Strand will be closed for the event.
