The 1.0L Boosterjet engine in the international version of Baleno RS churns out a peak power and torque output of 110bhp and 170Nm torque which is available between 2000-3500rpm while the Indian version has been detuned to match the Indian traffic conditions. The Indian Baleno RS will churn out 102bhp with an utmost torque output of 150Nm which ranges between 1700-4500rpm which will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Boosterjet engine comes with 3-cylinder and DOHC set-up which results in good fuel efficiency without compromising on power. This is achieved by the usage of small displacement engine and a direct injection turbocharger which optimizes fuel combustion efficiency for superior fuel economy and performance. The Baleno RS gets a fixed geometry turbocharger which results in pumping the power of engine using the air flow through the controlled waste gate valve which remains close at the time of high pressure acceleration to create high boost pressure while it remains open during normal driving condition thus resulting in less pumping loss resulting in good fuel efficiency and powerful performance whenever required.

Suzuki has specifically designed the compact turbocharger which is directly integrated with the cylinder head to avoid any kind of delay in power and further the exhaust manifold which controls the air flow for power production of turbocharger has been integrated with cylinder head casting for minimal mechanical loss. This whole set-up will surely make Baleno RS a fun to drive car as it will be offer all its torque as early as 1700rpm with a flat torque band which should result in strong low, mid and high range backed up by 102bhp of power which will make this car even more powerful in terms of power to weight ration since it will only weigh around 950Kg. Let's wait for the price and first drive of this car which will clear all the speculations and prove the worthiness of this car.
