Harry Potter actor still fighting in intensive care after breaking neck in horrific car crash

Jim Tavare, the Harry Potter actor who broke his neck and was left in intensive care following a head-on car collision, is reportedly making progress but still remains under observation in the intensive care unit.

His wife Laura took to Facebook to update fans on his condition, admitting 'it means so much to know you're out there routing for his recovery'.

Laura also thanked everyone for the 'many messages of support and love for Jim (and me) as we battle through this traumatic time'.

Laura's full message to fans

'I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of you for the many messages of support and love for Jim (and me) as we battle through this traumatic time.

'It means so much to know you're out there routing for his recovery. He's still in intensive care, but making progress.

'Hopefully it won't be long before he can make his own status updates again. Laura x'.

Known for his role as Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban, the third instalment of the hugely popular supernatural, Jim suffered 15 broken ribs, fractures in breastbones, a punctured lung [and] multiple breaks in his right leg in the crash as well as a broken neck.

The 54-year-old's wife Laura posted a picture of the actor awake in his hospital bed looking worse for wear, covered in bruising, hooked up to several IV drips and with a neck brace on.

No further details have yet to be released about the accident, but The Guardian reported at the time that Jim spends most of his time in Los Angeles.
