Club 3D HDMI 2.0 adapters review: UHD 60Hz for every PC.
Game on your 4K TV, even if you don't have an HDMI 2.0 graphics card.

With the launch of the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X, which contrary to its competitor from the green camp does not feature HDMI 2.0, AMD promised that its partners would 'soontm' come with adapters. Now, eight months later, the first adapters have finally reached our test lab: Club 3D sent us active adapters for DisplayPort, mini DisplayPort and USB Type C.
In practice all of the adapters are basically converting a DisplayPort signal to the newest HDMI standard. HDMI 2.0 offers support for a 4K resolution - also known as Ultra HD - with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. This you can game or watch series on your TV without any compromises in quality. Older HDMI versions were limited to 30 Hz, while DisplayPort has practically never been present on TVs.
Of course Club 3D is known for its graphics cards, but these days they also sell a good number of cables and adapters. In this series there are three variants: the CAC-1170 converts mini DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0, the CAC-1070 converts DisplayPort and the CAC-1504 converts a USB Type C signal. In order to use the last adapter we mentioned, the source device must utilize the DisplayPort Alternate Mode. This means you can't connect it to a USB 3.1 on motherboards with an ASMedia controller, but if the Type C port is also used for Thunderbolt, it tends to work in practice as well. Before you buy it though, you should definitely check if your device supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode.
