Moto Z Play may have 3.5mm headphone jack, unlike the Moto Z and Moto Z Force

Moto Z Play may have 3.5mm headphone jack, unlike the Moto Z and Moto Z Force.

When the Moto Z and Moto Z Force were announced, there was a controversy surrounding them because neither device comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. They are some of the first high-end, mainstream devices to omit the headphone jack in favor of a lone USB Type-C adapter and a 3.5mm-to-Type-C adapter.

The Moto Z and Moto Z Force aren't going to see any changes, but it looks like people were unhappy enough to make Motorola listen. A leaked photo of what appears to be the Moto Z Play sandwiched between the Moto Z and Moto Z Force shows a 3.5mm headphone jack by a USB Type-C port.

Maybe the outcry over the lack of a headphone jack made Motorola change its mind, or maybe the lack of a headphone jack was meant only for its flagship all this time. Either way, hopefully this will please anyone who may be considering the Moto Z Play in the future.
