Microsoft to make using multiple graphics cards easier with DirectX 12 update

When Microsoft introduced its new OS back in 2015, the company wanted PC gamers to know that Windows 10 would be the best Windows ever for gaming thanks to DirectX 12, a collection of APIs created to help Windows run multimedia content as efficiently as possible.

On a video that Microsoft published during Build 2016 in March, the company explained that DirectX 12 would allow developers to use the full capabilities of a PC's GPU and offer up to 20% increase in GPU performance as well as up to 50% improvement in overall CPU usage. But so far, that promise has only been sporadically fulfilled, because it's up to developers to support all the coding needed for this feature to work. But thankfully, a new DirectX 12 update will change all that. The API contains various features created to help users get more out of their modern hardware - however one of the more highly anticipated features, Explicit Multi Adaptor (EMA) support, is rather hard for developers to implement.

Italian police arrest suspect in murder of American student
John Cabot University said it was alerted by Solomon's roommate, who reported that he had lost contact with Solomon around 1 a.m. Two witnesses told police they saw a man being thrown into the river from Ponte Garibaldi on the night of June 30th.

US President Raises Concerns Over World's Economy Following Brexit Vote
But he says there are genuine, longer-term concerns about already weak global growth. "America is a nation of immigrants". But the meeting of world leaders wasn't without some laughs and an awkward moment. "Democracy is not easy, it's hard".

Brandon Browner Under Investigation for Alleged Assault
Browner's girlfriend's father, who is 59, told police he was assaulted once and fell to the ground, where he injured his thumb. Browner returned to the Seahawks this offseason after spending the 2014 season with the Patriots and 2015 with the Saints.

Now Microsoft has confirmed that it's taking away some of the complexity in multi-GPU systems, with a new abstraction layer. Unfortunately, very few titles support this feature, so most users can't really take advantage of it. Well, it seems to have tracked sideways to provide an easy way to implement "basic multi-GPU support" rather than needing developers to get their hands dirty with the low-level EMA coding. That way, you can use something like a GeForce GTX 980 alongside a new Radeon RX 480, with both of the GPUs working together under Explicit Multi Adapter and DX12. It would be particularly neat if Microsoft's DX12 can make some use of Intel GPUs, that otherwise lay dormant in systems with a discrete graphics card. The update will be announced soon.
