Adapters ease JTAG testing of DIMM sockets.JTAG Technologies has launched a family of hardware adapters for testing board-mounted DIMM and SODIMM sockets using universal JTAG/boundary-scan hardware and supporting software. 
The JT 2127-Flex system comprises a high-speed multichannel I/O module, the JT 2127/DMU, and a DIMM-specific personality adapter, the JT 2127-Flex xxx. This combination of hardware allows test signals to be sent to and from the boundary-scan source device on the UUT and performs a thorough check for open pins and short circuits. Voltages on the power pins of the DIMM socket are also measured. Adapters are currently available for 204-3, 244-mi3, 260-4, and 288-4 DIMM types, with other formats available upon request.
JTAG ProVision, a test development tool suite, is used to generate boundary-scan tests for the DIMM sockets and ships with a full set of support files for the JT 2127-Flex system. Completed DIMM socket tests will also run on the full range of PIP (Production Integration Package) run-time software modules, as well as the company's Symphony systems.
