ORLANDO, Fla. – Power Pin of Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., has a new Category Five hitch.

There are few implements now available that can take a 2.75 inch drawbar pin, so the hitch is mainly for future needs.

Company president Brian Olson said the new hitch size was necessary to deal with wear issues of a smaller Category Four pin and hitch.

Olson said the new setup has an integrated two-inch, step-down pin and a bushing that adapts up to the Category Five unit.

The bigger hitch system still accommodates the two-inch pins from the Category four system.

Additional new features beyond the Drop Pin design, which hooks up implements without leaving the cab, include a new half-moon key that locks the pin lock, similar in safety designs used in the trucking industry.

"We needed a simple solution for farmers so they could hook up without installing all new hitches on their implements," he said.

The first tractor to get the new hitch is the Versatile 575.
