The new Bugaboo Donkey mono-duo convertible stroller was recently unveiled to the nation at Galt Baby in Chicago, and the three Galt Toys + Galt Baby locations around Chicagoland will be some of the very few places around the United States where families will be able to purchase this revolutionary new stroller. Designed during an intense five-year process to excel at transporting one kid or two kids plus all the goods a busy parent ends up carrying around during the day, the Bugaboo Donkey can be converted and customized to fit the changing needs of many families.

About the Bugaboo Donkey
The Bugaboo Donkey is the first mono-duo convertible stroller designed to carry one or more kids plus goods. With three clicks, parents can convert it from a full-sized mono to a full-sized side-by-side duo. In the mono configuration, parents can rest a great expandable side luggage basket next to a carseat or bassinet, yet the width of the stroller is no more than 23 inches wide. Even when expanded to the duo configuration of two carseats, two bassinets, or a carseat and a bassinet, the stroller only reaches a width of 29 inches wide (still less than a standard doorway of 32 inches).
Some nice features of this stroller's design are the fact that all of the latches are white, making it simple for parents to find them, and that it comes with two wheel positions, and therefore can be adjusted to be suitable for navigating difficult terrain like a snowy Chicago sidewalk or the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan.
The built-in storage options are also great, making it easy for parents to bring along toys or stow shopping items. The expandable side luggage basket is removable and comes with a large set of handle straps to make it simple to sling over a shoulder, and the underseat basket is designed with flaps that fold over its pockets to keep small playthings, keys, or other tiny items tossed beneath the stroller from bouncing out when families are on the go.
The whole stroller can hold around 100 pounds of weight, with each seat able to hold about 40 pounds. For now, this new convertible stroller will work with Graco and Maxi-Cosi carseats. In the future, Bugaboo will announce other compatible carseats.
Parents can add a Wheeled Board on which older kids can stand. Other possible accessories include carseat adaptor, cup holder, parasol, seat liner, footmuff, sun canopy, organizer, and Bugaboo bag.
For now, the Bugaboo Donkey comes in two base colors (black and sand) and six tailored colors (black, red, pink, sand, off-white, and royal blue), and it can be purchased in several packages.
- The Mono Configuration holds one child and costs $1,199.
- The Duo Configuration holds two children of different ages and sizes and costs $1,499.
- The Twin Configuration holds two children of the same age and costs $1,659.
- By purchasing the Duo Extension set for $300, parents can convert the Mono Configuration to the Duo Configuration. Families can therefore purchase only the Mono upon the arrival of the first child and then invest in the Duo Extension set when the family grows later with the addition of a second child.
Where to buy the new Bugaboo Donkey
The new Bugaboo Donkey will not be available for purchase online or at any places other than a few select retailers across the country, including the three Galt Toys + Galt Baby locations in Chicago. Local families can visit these stores to order their stroller and be trained in its use at:

Moms and dads can preorder the Bugaboo Donkey now. The stores expect to have the first strollers in stock and available for pickup around April 6, 2011.
