The iPhone 7 might not feature a headphone jack, and to make this rumor even more obvious, one Chinese company is already advertising several Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone adapters for the much-awaited smartphone.

In order to make the iPhone 7 as thin as possible, it's being rumored that Apple will give up the aging 3.5mm headphone jack from the device. From time to time, we've been hearing this rumor backed up with (claimed) blurry shots of the iPhone 7 itself, and today things are taken one step further with a bunch of images that show off three Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone adapters that do exactly what you think they should – allow you to connect your regular headphones with the Lightning-only iPhone 7 handset.

The company behind this contraption, Tama Electric, is showing off three different Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone adapters, with two of them bearing a micro USB port for charging the iPhone 7 if headphones are plugged in. All three accessories include volume controls as well, so you do not have to fiddle around with the iPhone 7's built-in controls when plugged-in.

One should keep in mind that if the iPhone 7 does indeed ditch the headphone jack – although one report suggests that it might not – Apple will definitely run a 'Made for iPhone' program for Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone adapters. After all, the Cupertino giant would want manufacturers to follow strict guidelines in order to make sure things are top notch for users and a high-end experience is delivered every single time they plug in this accessory with their device. Furthermore, Apple will definitely forge a Lightning-to-3.5mm adapter on its own as well, after all, imagine the apocalypse that would ensue when millions of headphones become absolutely useless overnight just because one giant corporation made a smartphone with one port short.

We Haven't Seen An iPhone 7 Concept More Elegant Than This

All that babbling aside, we're going to leave the 'debunking' and 'confirming' bit for Apple to handle. After all, the ditching of the headphone jack is a rumor at this point in time, and we do not have solid proof whether or not the company will actually end up making such a move. And even if it does, it will be considered a movement to destroy the 3.5mm headphone jack altogether, same as when Apple ditched the optical drive with the announcement of the first ever MacBook Air.

We'll know for sure in the months to come, so stay tuned for more!
